GLUCOSAMINE
Only part of the answer

In the past few years, a lot has been written about Glucosamine and its role in the relief of painful joints. And, while it has been a great help to many people, it simply does not work for everyone. Here’s why:

Glucosamine primarily works by drawing water to the cartilage. This helps it retain its cushioning effects and provides lubrication to the joint. So, in cases where the cartilage itself is not severely challenged or destroyed, Glucosamine can, in fact, achieve results. The challenge comes when the cartilage has already been seriously worn away or destroyed altogether (bone on bone). In these cases, Glucosamine offers little or no help because the cartilage can no longer hold water and provide lubrication. This extra lubrication is why many people feel a reduction in pain when taking Glucosamine. It is not because Glucosamine is “repairing” the joint cartilage, because, contrary to widespread belief, Glucosamine does not repair or rebuild joint cartilage.

We believe there is an answer to helping rebuild and regenerate joint cartilage - Collagen Type II (see “
Cartilage repair”). Since the 1993 Harvard Medical School study, more and more people are using Collagen Type II with fantastic results. We believe this ingredient is what you need to take in order for your body to help regenerate and repair joint cartilage. Cartilage is made up primarily of Collagen Type II, so by giving the body the ingredient it needs for joint cartilage regeneration, it stands to reason that you should get results - and you do!

Many people who have received little or no results from Glucosamine have had incredible success with Collagen Type II. If you are one of the people who have experienced limited benefits from the use of Glucosamine, or you are simply looking to maximize your pain relief or joint health, Collagen Type II could be your answer.

Although both our
LaKOTA Rheumatoid -Osteo Formula and our LaKOTA Joint Care Formula contain Collagen Type II, the Rheumatoid-Osteo formulation contains greater concentrations of this super nutrient. The Joint Care Formula contains less and was primarily developed as a pain relief/anti-inflammatory formula with the joint lubricating benefits of two different types of Glucosamine (the Rheumatoid-Osteo Formula contains no Glucosamine and no pain relieving/ anti-inflammatory herbs)
